When it Rains in Winter
Allow me to offer a snippet of what is to come with a paid subscription to Terrill Welch by herself...
On the southwest coast of Canada in winter, mostly it rains. Sometimes the rain freezes as it falls. Then it snows. Most often it snows half-heartedly.
And sometimes it actually snows.
But the transition always feels expectant because it has the potential of being so much more and stunningly beautiful. Capitalizing on this potential, I have curated a selection of my southwest coast snow paintings beginning with a similar view as above on a different snow day.
In the past, I have climbed up the side of on of our island bluffs in close to knee deep snow just to admire the view and snow hanging on this old fir tree.
The view can be grand!
Other times, I have gone down and stood by the sea.
